Scripture is very clear on what our attitude should be toward government. With our local elections happening tomorrow in and around our City, let’s be reminded of what the Word of God has to say.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 says, “I urge, then, first of all, that requests,     prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings, and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

There is a battle in the spiritual realm as well as the political realm, and we have access by the Holy Spirit to pray into this area.

You probably have been, but I just want to remind us all to be in prayer for these elections. Thank the Lord for those who have served in the past and pray for the Will of God to be done as to those that will serve for the next term.

PLEASE, DON’T FORGET TO VOTE, PRAYERFULLY! This is a privilege, and a responsibility that we all have and should not take it for granted.
